The mathematical projections of MGR University indicate 1.5 lakh covid-19 patients in Chennai by mid-July and a peak in October. Going by the fact that the Varsity’s projections on Chennai have been proved right so far, it is best to brace ourselves to deal with the crisis as it is about to knock every one of our homes. This is my own account observing the crisis from close quarters which might help to understand how the system works.   Getting tested: This is the first of the many hardships, a patient (and their family) faces. There are as many ways to stop you from getting tested. On developing any symptoms, if you approach a private clinic, the doctor will mostly convince it is just viral fever and to follow the medications. But, make sure to get your symptoms handwritten by the doctor on your prescription. Private labs are very specific about this. A valid prescription is mandatory to get an appointment.                  “Early bird gets the worm” goes a saying. So I was trying to be that early bird for the past 2 days being so early to work discovering how it feels to be early as I have always been a latecomer right from my schooldays.Apart from the weird looks from my office security and constant teasings from my colleagues on my strange behaviour there is something which I felt quite annoying the last two days. The unusual traffic at the same time same place for 2 consecutive days. Being a hasty person I am, first day it was so easy for me to vroom amidst the vehicles and ignore the reason as usual but today I was quite curious to find out the reason for the unusual traffic and it was so obvious that parents were busy driving their kids to school after summer vacation.
